About Higley High School

Higley High School is a comprehensive, 9-12 high school rated "A" by the Arizona Department of Education, serving the educational needs of students in Gilbert, AZ. Higley High School was awarded an  A+ School of Excellence® designation by the Arizona Education Foundation. Higley offers a wide range of curriculum designed to challenge all students and prepare them for college and careers after high school. Some of these programs include a full range of AP, honors, and dual enrollment courses along with Career and Technical Education and Engineering programs. 

In addition to a commitment to outstanding academics, Higley High encourages all students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Whether it be the fine arts, sports, student council, or one of many campus clubs, Higley High is the place to get involved and enhance your high school experience.

Announcements

The Town of Gilbert will start rehabilitating water pipes along Higley Road between Guadalupe and Ray roads on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. Expect lane reductions, turn restrictions, and varying traffic impacts through Spring 2026. Some households may notice temporary tap water discoloration during valve closures, but water will remain safe to use. With Winter Break approaching, we would like to express our appreciation to all of our students and families for your continued support throughout this semester.

As a reminder,

  • Elementary, Middle, and High Schools will be closed 30 minutes after their dismissal times on December 19th through January 2nd. School offices will reopen on January 5th and school will resume on Tuesday, January 6th.
  • Preschools will close at 12:00 PM on December 19th through January 2nd. Office hours for January 5th will be 7:00-9:00 AM and 1:00-3:00 PM. The office will be closed from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Normal office hours and school will resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
  • The District Office will close at 2:00 PM on December 19th through January 2nd, and will reopen on Monday, January 5th.

Enrollment is Open for the 2026-2027 School Year

The Higley Unified School District (HUSD) will open student enrollment and open enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year on December 1, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Families are encouraged to enroll early to secure placement at one of the district’s A-rated schools and to prepare for upcoming campus events designed to welcome new students.
