About Higley High School

Higley High School is a comprehensive, 9-12 high school rated "A" by the Arizona Department of Education, serving the educational needs of students in Gilbert, AZ. Higley High School was awarded an  A+ School of Excellence® designation by the Arizona Education Foundation. Higley offers a wide range of curriculum designed to challenge all students and prepare them for college and careers after high school. Some of these programs include a full range of AP, honors, and dual enrollment courses along with Career and Technical Education and Engineering programs. 

In addition to a commitment to outstanding academics, Higley High encourages all students to participate in extra-curricular activities. Whether it be the fine arts, sports, student council, or one of many campus clubs, Higley High is the place to get involved and enhance your high school experience.

Announcements

On April 26th, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Higley Unified School District's Higley Leadership Academy will host an E-Waste Day, offering the community a chance to responsibly recycle old electronics. The event will take place at Higley Schools District Office Parking Lot located at  2935 South Recker Road, and is open to all local residents.

This initiative invites individuals, families, and businesses to drop off unwanted or outdated electronics, including computers, radios, cell phones, and more. The goal is to ensure that these items are properly recycled, keeping harmful waste out of local landfills and promoting sustainability within the community.

When: April 26th, 2025 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Higley Unified School District Office - 2935 South Recker Rd.

“We are excited to offer a convenient, responsible way for our community members to dispose of old electronics,” said Brian Minson, event organizer. “This event not only helps reduce e-waste but also educates our community on the importance of recycling and taking care of our environment.”

Residents can drop off a wide range of electronic devices, including computers, monitors, cell phones, radios, and other small electronics. Items containing hazardous materials, such as televisions, refrigerators, and appliances, will not be accepted. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with the collection process and ensure a smooth and safe drop-off experience for all attendees.

We are excited to announce the Higley Unified School District Governing Board has selected and approved David Loutzenheiser for the role of Superintendent beginning in the 2025-26 School Year. Mr. Loutzenheiser is the current Executive Director of Secondary Education and Athletics for Higley Unified and is looking forward to continuing to work with students, staff and families.
